Q: Are the songs available for download here offered free of charge?
A: Yes. Anything that is enabled for download is yours to download and do whatever you want with it. Send it to your friends, burn cds, put it on your iPod. However, The Axel Vault is only extending these rights to you, the web user, for non-commercial purposes. Please read the licensing agreement at the bottom of this page for more information about licensing and other forms of rebroadcasting.

Q: How do I navigate the site?
A: There are two main sections of the site for navigation. You have the side menu on the left of the screen, which deals mainly with things specific to The Axel Vault and it's contents. On top of the screen above the title is a menu of more peripheral items like the mailing list, the contact page and some links that will open a page somewhere else (like Last.fm and YouTube).
Q: How can I stream your music?
A: The easiest thing to do is to click the Launch Axel Radio link towards the top of the left menu bar. this will open a new window and stream roughly 70 minutes worth of assorted Krister Axel songs. You may also click the Last.fm link at the top of the screen to access the same playlists.
Q: How can I find a specific song?
A: Click the Browse the vault link on the left menu bar of this screen. You can then browse by song title, album, or genre. A-Z will also appear below the Browse the vault link allowing you to view the full list of available songs in alphabetical order. Click Search to find any song, poem, or blog entry by key word.
Q: Can I reprint anything I find on this site?
A: Not without permission. Under some circumstances you may be allowed to reprint certain portions of the site, but this is entirely at the discretion of The Axel Vault. Use the contact link above to send a message with as much information as possible in terms of what you would like to print and what publication or other interest it is and please allow up to 4 weeks for a response. Without express consent, all poetry and other print content at The Axel Vault remains the sole property of Krister Axel, with all rights reserved.
Q: Should I sign up for an account?
A: By signing up for an account, you will gain access to about another 50% worth of stream-able songs. You will also be permitted to download copies of many of the songs. This is a free membership but nevertheless it is necessary for tracking metrics and avoiding web bots. A minority of the available tracks here are best suited for only two kinds of people - Krister Axel geeks, and filmmakers / Music Directors who are looking for obscure lo-fi recordings. If you are a student filmmaker, or you represent a non-profit project, I ask only that you credit Krister Axel as the songwriter/performer and present the web address as KristerAxel.com under the terms of the CreativeCommons nc-sampling license. For commercial licensing I am open to all manners of discussion. All of my songs are published through D'Ici La Publishing, ASCAP.
Q: Krister Axel, what can I do to help you?
A: The first thing you can do is write a few comments around the site. Almost everything is commentable, from the Poetry to the Music and the latest Frontpage item. If you have a YouTube account, you can vote for Krister Axel by visiting Krister Axel on YouTube and voting for the videos you like. That would be cool.
Although there are more than 100 songs available for free download from The Axel Vault, many of my best songs are only available for purchase. Making good music costs money. If you find yourself visiting The Axel Vault very often, please consider making a donation or a purchase.
